RE M.I. 的 “必然性"？

The proof quoted by Ricky is a problem (not M.I. itself). In the usual procedure in M.I., we need to guarantee $P(k) \Rightarrow P(k+1)$ (say) by valid logic. However in the so-called proof, on assuming the general election to be held in the $k^{th}$ year, we had nothing to say about the situation in the $(k + 1)^{th}$ year, and it is problematic to say證畢 because the so-called proof was incomplete and it could not be a counter-example to establish the statement『我們可以證明 M.I. 並不是經常性成立。』For validity of M.I., you may refer to the following post:http://www.hkedcity.net/ihouse_tools/forum/read.phtml?forum_id=27877¤t_page=&i=926996&t=926996

Finding Big Brothers

I think it is always a problem of finding big brothers on phone, especially I had no idea of who they are. The work should have done many days ago. The initiative is an important element to success, can I explain why the situations of the Big Brother Scheme of these years by that? Anyway, the time is a problem, last-miunte guy.

Staff Management Consultative Committee Meeting

After being one of the committee members for two years, I am now free from the committee. Today, I just gave the evaluation report on the F.1 Summer Bridging Course. I spent many hours (slept at 4 a.m. last morning) preparaing the only 3-page report. Poor man. We come up to some conclusions including

(1) Joint-mode is preferrable

(2) Design SFXC T-shirt

(3) Refer to the dates of university registration and O-camps, arrange better time for launching the bridging course.

[初中] Can 111…1 be a square number?

Let’s start with a simple problem. Will there be a perfect square in the following sequence?

$11,\:111,\:1111,...$

This is an old exercise in Mathematics, Brain’s Exercise: The Stanford Mathematics Problem Book and this book is a gift from my friend, Mr. James Chan. All we need to do is looking at the integers in the form of $100n + 11$, can you figure it out?

At the beginning, you may want to express $1111...$ by something like $1 + 10 + 10^2 + ...$ and use the sum of G.P. etc. But it is not the key.Um…I give one more step.$100n + 11 = 4(25n + 2) + 3$. Look at the R.H.S., is it clear enough? No? Let’s think about it, for any integer, it is either even and odd, right? For even number $2m$, after squaring, we have $(2m)^2 = 4N$. For odd number $2m + 1$, after squaring, we have $(2m + 1)^2 = 4m^2 + 4m + 1 = 4M + 1$. Students, you should have some ideas now. Please finish the question with proper presentation.

Y.U. 81 AGM

I’m pleased to see alumni red cross members being there for attending the AGM in 1R, they were Andrew, Law Kee, To…This year, Yi Ho, Wai Kei, Tim tried their best to participate the administration of Y.U. 81 this year. Today, there were only serval new members attending the AGM. Quite disappointing. May be the binding among members is so loose that they were not taking serious in the unit. We discussed some problems and solutions for the reference of the new committee. 3 hours. Kwong Kin Man will be the HSL in the coming academic year; together with two F.6 SLs, I think they may run the unit smoothly. The posts of ASL (T) and ASL (S) were cut and remaining 7 committee members. Also, I long for changes in regular meetings that members may find it interesting in attending meetings.

Don’t remind, too often.

Two or even three weeks before the end of summer vocation, many people, especially from mass media, keep reminding us that “the holiday is coming to its end very soon, prepare for the new academic year…", making of nightmares in my night dreams. Let me go, I’m tired of being reminded again and again. I’m a last-minute guy, the end is actually the start, thank you for blaming me.

Back to life

Just finished 3 meetings. Initiating the Turbo. Last night, slept at 2:00 p.m. after reading my sister’s Blog, feeling so sad that I’m away from my life too long. My son was ill after returning from Taiwan. I’m still half of myself.
Let me use another font: comic sans ms, I’d like to see the numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0
But the default one, Georgia, in the input field, may be the best: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0.那麼中文的情況如何？為何顯示不了？

Many many people used LaTeX many many years ago. At the beginning, typing with LaTeX is quite difficult, I’m used to use Equation Editor in WORD. However, it is a very beginning (too old to start), I think it is worthy trying here.

Hi there! I am hoping for using LaTeX in Blog, here is a good choice.Try a little bit. $\pi \simeq \frac{355}{113}$ is the 祖率. It is sad to know that I can’t use applet here. But at least, I can practise using LaTeX.OK.
